Shelton's very first Pride was held on June 26, 2026! In just 2 months a few locals got together and made history in Shelton by bringing the LGBTQIA+ and allies together to celebrate our individuality and the right to be ourselves without persecution.
Pride means a lot to a lot of people in a lot of ways! (Say a lot again.... I DARE YA! ☺) I can only capture myself at the moment. But I hope this site gives us an opportunity to hear from all of you as well.
To say the 1st Pride event here was a success would be leaving a lot out. I was ready to leave Shelton because we've lived here for several years and not made a single friend here. We've met plenty of people elsewhere, just no one local.
Then I was invited to a meeting. Last minute from a new friend.
These meetings very much reshaped what I thought of Shelton. To see how many places came together to support our mission to make PRIDE happen in Shelton. The number of volunteers that stepped up to help run Pride was astounding! The Donations, not just from businesses but members of the community too!
When the day of the celebration came I was anxious and frazzled but eager to see the turn out and this community did NOT disappoint. To see you all there, to be able to engage with you and hear your thoughts about PRIDE happening and the activities and booths and costume contest.
I love your spirits! You all have such beautiful souls! I hope we can all engage more often.
